Gotta love a guy with a game plan! Welcome aboard the club, my friend I really like seeing how we all plan on reaching that milestone – very very cool stuff to view.

To answer your question about including the home value or not, I actually do calculate it in when I’m doing my monthly net worths (although it’s currently a -$60k figure bringing it down!) but I don’t count on it at all when coming up with my $1 Million goal.

For me, the goal is to hit $1million in liquid cash & retirement accounts as you hit upon If I reach it with the equity in my house though, you better believe I’ll still be a happy man! I’m just not counting on it…

Congrats and welcome! Writing down that list is the first step and i know i felt awesome after i said publicly, “This will be me one day. I will be a millionaire.” Knowing that it will happen, its important to enjoy the journey along the way.
